Dear friends,
I am excited to share with you that I have joined Donald Zambarano's American Heart Association Heart Ball Executive Leadership Team. We have lofty goals to raise much needed funds for the AHA to fund the programs and research that touch someone we all know or care about.
When Don asked me to join him in this mission, I gladly accepted as personal experiences with loved ones came to the front of my mind. Both of my maternal grandparents died at different stages of life from heart disease. My grandfather in 1980 and my grandmother in 2001. Further, when born and after my nephew had to be revived multiple times with paddles as an infant. It turned out he had been born with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, an extra signaling pathway between the heart's upper and lower chambers that causes a fast heartbeat (tachycardia). WPW syndrome is a heart condition present at birth (congenital heart defect). It is fairly rare but thanks to treatment and procedures he is a very healthy 10 year old boy.
Asking you, my dear friends and colleagues, for your support in this mission is a tremendous request, but I do implore you to consider this important organization and your own family's experiences with heart disease. Please contact me with any questions or if you, or your company, may be interested in a larger event sponsorship. Thank you all.
