Did you know that heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death for women in the United States? It kills nearly half a million women each year at the rate of about one per minute. They are our sisters, mothers, daughters, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
Yet, there is hope. Inside every woman is the power to live a longer, stronger life. These diseases are 80% preventable with education and lifestyle changes.
The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement seeks to provide women with the tools and resources they need to reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke. Go Red For Women is a national year-long effort with a focus at raising education and awareness around heart disease and stroke.
We have many events happening throughout the year in Southern New England. Please join us!
