When: Saturday, June 19, 2010,
Where: Marble House in Newport, Rhode Island
What: Approximately 400 guests will attend the Southern New England Heart Ball at the beautiful water front mansion. For over 25 years, the Heart Ball has become one of the premiere social events of the season. This year’s black-tie gala will spotlight the American Heart Association’s work within the state of Rhode Island and South Coast, Massachusetts.
What to expect: Fine Catering by Russell Morin, the musical talents of the Mac Chrupcala Orchestra, a live auction featuring one-of-a-kind travel and event opportunities and a unique chance to help today’s children suffering from congenital heart defects.
Our Goal: To raise $400,000 to support scientific research and community education and to draw attention to the alarming health crisis facing today’s youth. In Rhode Island alone, home to leading research institutions and hospitals, the American Heart Association currently funds over $1.5 million in scientific research. Regionally, as part of the Founders Affiliate, researchers are receiving more than $83 million in new and continuing American Heart Association national and affiliate grants. Every dollar given through the 2009 Southern New England Heart Ball helps fund cutting-edge research and conduct lifesaving educational programs.
